5th Grade Really Does a Rock!
We'll, I'm in my first full week of teaching fifth grade. And although some might consider this the "honeymoon stage," I am considering this one of the best moves of my educational career! I certainly loved teaching first and second grades, but I have a feeling fifth grade is going to be my best year yet! We have been busy building community, setting up procedures, and beginning our language arts and math curriculum. I could not be happier with how things are going... Nor could I be more exhausted!!

Pinterest Junkie!
Why yes, I am a Pinterest junkie! As an educator, mother, home decorator, lover of words, and self-proclaimed fashionista, I have found no better website. Where else can you go and just look at images to find exactly what you are looking for?! Some people choose to use Pinterest as just a search engine, which is completely fine. It is such a great tool and I am glad that Pinterest has made it so that you do not need to "join" in order to search for that perfect Friday night dessert. But I have found that I often want to go back into my pins and boards to find something. I especially love looking on other pinner's boards who have similar interests as mine. In fact, I think I have found some soul sisters through Pinterest! Find my Pinterest page here!

Change is good!
I am very excited to say that I will be teaching fifth grade this next school year! I am currently on a one year maternity leave for my gorgeous daughter Lily. As sad as I will be to leave her with a sitter, I am as equally excited to get back into the classroom! I have been going into Parkside to visit the fifth grade, not just to reacquaint myself with our staff and students, but to get a feel for fifth grade and the exciting things this grade has to offer. Wish me luck everyone!
